Wii or PlayStation3 ?

Wii is the new game console by Nintendo. And PlayStation3 is the one by Sony. Both of them will be available on this autumn.

I watched some movies of them on http://youtube.com and read some E3 reports and other articles.
And I'm very impressed by the Wii. Especially the controller seems fun.
# I'm also interested in the new Mario for DS(not Wii). Huge Mario is so cute ;).

BTW,
almost all Japanese(children as well as adults) have some game consoles.
But I dont' have one. Because I'm afraid I would not be able to do anything except playing games if I have a game console.
Actually, currently I play Sudoku on my mobile phone when I'm on buses/trains. I can't stop playing it by myself before reaching my destination. I think it's very bad thing for my life.

  • The Wii sure looks fun. I definitely want to try it :).

And I understand why you do not want to buy a console. I've got a GameCube and a DS, but I won't buy a PS2 because I think I would spend too much time playing RPGs ;).

  • Yes, that's what I want to say.

    BTW, do you have DS?

What kind of Game do you recommand?

I'm very instersted in "Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day":

Yes, I need to train my brain ;).

  • Yes, I've got a DS (look more closely at my previous comment ;)).

I've tried the first 脳を鍛える:大人のDSトレーニング in Japanese but I found it quite boring after a few days :P. But the fact that some games are too difficult for someone as bad as I am in Japanese did not help ;). For this type of game, I think the best is to try it before buying.

A friend tried もっと脳を鍛える and told me it was much better than the first one. Especially if you want to train your knowledge of 漢字 ;). I think I'll buy it next time I go in Japan.

For the best games on DS, it really depends what you like. For the Role Playing Games, most are only available in Japan so I can't help you. I've got the following games on DS:
    - Phoenix Wright (逆転裁判 in Japanese)
    - Mario 64
    - Metroid Prime: Hunters
    - Kirby PowerPaintbrush (タッチ! カービィ in Japanese)

They are really great in their categories. The new Mario also seems great (but it will only be available in France the 30th June). It has great marks on all American web sites: http://gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/920787.asp

  • Thanks. I'll try them!

Ask me if you really need to buy japanese games or other things. I may help you ;).

  • Do you plan to buy a DS? BTW, I saw that Sudoku will be available on DS soon ;).

  • Yeah the Wii sounds so great! I bet it will be more popular than the other consoles.

I don't have a DS but a coworker of mine has, and I have been playing at that Wario small games a lot, there are very funny, and very innovative (especially now that almost all games are 3D and similar) :-)

Oh and BTW, my girlfriend bought me a ... Super Famicon, recently! I have some very good games like Street Fighter, Mario, Star Fox, Secret of Mana, etc... all my childhood :-)

  • Wario is famous in Japan, too.

Super famicon ... How I long to see it ;).
